 -Commitment to Health Testing

   - Genetic Testing: Prior to breeding, Bonzer conducts comprehensive health testing on our dogs to identify potential genetic issues such as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and certain hereditary diseases. The testing is done by Paw Prints and OFA. Our results are listed on our Dam/Sire pages. We are also happy to provide a hard copy. ​

   - Regular Veterinary Check-ups: All our breeding dogs receive routine veterinary care and vaccinations to maintain their overall health and well-being. Our puppy also receive veterinary care and will have their first physical exam and vaccinations prior to heading to their forever homes. 

 

-Focus on Temperament and Socialization

   - Early Socialization: We follow Puppy Culture curriculum and prioritize the early socialization of our puppies. From a young age, they are exposed to various environments, sounds, and people to develop well-rounded, confident dogs.

   - Temperament Testing: We work with a local animal trainer/behavioralist to  assess the temperament of our puppies to match them with the right families, ensuring they are a good fit for their future homes.

 

- Ethical Breeding Practices

   - Responsible Breeding: We adhere to strict ethical guidelines, ensuring that we breed for quality rather than quantity. Each mating is planned with the goal of improving the breed and maintaining high standards.

   - Lifetime Support: We provide ongoing support for our puppy families, offering guidance on training, health, and any concerns that may arise throughout the dog's life. We have a group page for current/past Bonzer puppy owners. You will receive more information and login info in your new puppy packet.

 

-Environmental Enrichment

   - Raising Puppies in a Family Environment: Our puppies are raised in a loving home environment, where they receive constant attention and care from everyone in our family, especially our six children. This helps to ensure they are well-adjusted and ready to transition smoothly into their new families.

   - Stimulating Activities: We incorporate various activities and toys to engage the puppies mentally and physically, promoting healthy development.

 

- Transparent Communication

   - Open Lines of Communication: We encourage prospective owners to ask questions and learn about our breeding practices. We provide transparency regarding our breeding practices, health testing, and all aspects of raising our puppies.

   - Detailed Contracts: We have clear and detailed contracts that outline the responsibilities of both the breeder and the new owner, ensuring a mutual understanding of expectations.

 

- Community Involvement

   - Support for Local Dog Therapy/Service Organizations: We actively support local therapy/service organizations. We have committed to donate one puppy from each of our litters to an organization where the puppy can be therapy dog trained and used in their program. This commitment to service, the community,  and the breeding of dogs with a therapy temperament is part of what makes Bonzer unique. 

   - Educational Resources: We provide educational resources for new dog owners, including training tips, health information, and breed-specific advice. All information can be found on our private Facebook group, in the puppy go home packet, or on our blog.
